Service learning is part of our mission, and Tiger students and alumni live it. Each year, hundreds of students spend thousands of hours volunteering in Crete, Bellevue and Lincoln.

Relay for Life

Doane has been a top collegiate fundraiser for Relay for Life for nearly 20 years. Student-led events raise donations to fight cancer and provide support to those impacted by cancer.

Free tax return preparation

Through the IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, Doane accounting majors can become certified to help prepare tax returns for the Doane and Crete community for free.

Doane/Crete Adapted P.E. Course

In this course, Doane students are paired with Crete Public Schools students with special needs to teach fundamental motor skills — and learn from their “Cardinal friends.”

Tiger Bites — August 2023

Architectural rendering of the lobby of the revitalized Isis Theatre in Crete, Nebraska.
